Recommended PUBS, RESTAURANTS & TEASHOPS Locally

The nearest pub is The Oak at Defford, 5 mins drive from The Old Rectory, and a stones throw from the farm shop and tea rooms. You can walk there; the quickest way being across the country footpaths, ok for a Summer's day but not a good idea at night. The Oak has great home cooked food to a high standard, as has The Jockey Inn at Baughton or The Swan at Birlingham both local favorites. Most of the pubs shown here are within a 10 minute drive, or you could use our mountain bikes to work up an appetite! Try also http://www.yewtreepub.com/ a local favorite Cotswold pub with good food and local walks, a little further away but worth the extra 10 minutes.

If your out and about around Evesham or the Cotswolds take a trip to The Fleece Inn at Bretforton the only pub in the UK owned by the National Trust and is traditional in every sense. Great lunches and evening meals this is no ordinary pub. It's not local being about 30 mins from The Old Rectory so make it part of your day out.

Any direction you care to take off in you will find an amazing selection of high quality, family run pubs of immense character, serving real ales and good food at reasonable prices. Here’s a quick photo montage of our nearest pubs and thereafter a restaurant and teashop guide for the surrounding towns:
